Family: Convolvulaceae (Morning Glory family)

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: May - September
Mid-Atlantic fruit ripe: July - October

Wild Potato-vine has large, showy white flowers with pink to purple centers. The flowers are bell-shaped, with their outer edges flared somewhat. The vine itself is somewhat slender, and leaves are heart shaped. Note that the reproductive structures do not protrude beyond the lips of the flowers, unlike the somewhat similar Hibiscus genus flowers in which the reproductive structures do protrude.
