Family: Primulaceae (Primrose family)

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: May - July
Mid-Atlantic fruit ripe: August - September

Moneywort is native to Europe, but has become sometimes invasive in North America. The shape of its leaves gives it both its species epithet 'nummularia' which means "like a coin" in Latin, and its common name. When blooming, it has cup-shaped yellow flowers, about 2 cm in diameter.
