Mid-Atlantic bloom time:
June - August
Mid-Atlantic fruit ripe:
September - October
Moonseed is a woody climbing vine growing up to 5 meters without tendrils. Its leaves can have 07 lobes (most commonly 35 lobes). It forms clusters of ivory to white flowers. Its fruits are drupes, blue to black in color, and poisonous.
All parts of the plant are known to be poisonous. Because its fruits ripen at about the same time as many wild grapes, the two can sometimes be dangerously confused. Moonseed drupes have a single crescent-shaped seed, whereas grapes have multiple round seeds
