Like all of the species in the genus Micranthes,
Lettuceleaf Saxifrage has basal leaves, with flowers borne in clusters on the top of leafless stems.
It's petals have yellow spots near their base.
It's thin, sharply-toothed lettuce-like leaves (8-35cm long) are diagnostic.
It typically grows in forested rocky seeps, seepages swamps, and alongside streams.
