Family: Araliaceae (Ginseng family)

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: April - June
Mid-Atlantic fruit ripe: August - October

Dwarf Ginseng does not appear to be closely related to any of the other ginseng species and is thought to be pehaps the oldest base of the genus. It has three leaves, each with typically 3 (or 5) leaflets.
