Family: Plantaginaceae (Plantain family)

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: late April - July

Large-bracted Plantain's bracts have fluffy hairs around their bases near the flowers. While it is native to North American, it traditionally has not been considered native to the Mid-Atlantic area. The original distribution is obscure, perhaps from Ohio, south to the panhandle of Florida and Texas.
